Moroccan Chicken Tagine Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup green olives

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1 lemon, sliced

Instructions:

  1. In a large tagine or skillet, brown chicken thighs on both sides. Remove and set aside.

  2. In the same pan, sauté onions until golden brown. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

  3. Add cumin, ginger, cinnamon, paprika, turmeric, cloves, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. Return the chicken to the pan and add chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 45 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

  5. Add green olives and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and lemon slices before serving.
