Creme Fresh

Creme Fraiche Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 tablespoon buttermilk

Instructions:

  1. In a clean glass jar, combine the heavy cream and buttermilk.

  2. Stir well to ensure the buttermilk is fully incorporated into the cream.

  3. Cover the jar with a clean cheesecloth or paper towel, securing it with a rubber band.

  4. Leave the jar at room temperature for about 12-24 hours, or until the mixture has thickened to your desired consistency.

  5. Once thickened, give it a gentle stir and refrigerate for at least 6 hours before using.

  6. Enjoy your homemade creme fraiche as a delicious topping for fruits, desserts, or savory dishes.

Note: The creme fraiche will continue to thicken as it chills in the refrigerator. It can be stored for up to 2 weeks.
